Meet the winemakers: Dashe Cellars
Michael and Anne Dashe, the makers of the outstanding Dry Creek Zinfandel we have on tap will bring on stage the rest of their production, which includes an Alsatian-style Riesling, a spicy Grenache, several single-vineyard Zinfandels and even a dessert wine, most of them sourced from Sonoma and Mendocino. Chef Paul Canales will display a selection of the cured meats made in the house, along with some cheese and other snacks.
This is a great oportunity to meet two of the most influential winemakers in the East Bay, authors of some of the most creative, bright and elegant Zinfandels we've seen around. Dashe Cellars started their production in the late 90's. They are based in Oakland (4th Street). By using cooler climate fruit, low yielding vines, native yeast fermentations and minimal handling, they make distinctive, sensuous wines that let the vineyards shine through.
