We are fortunate to have Mac McDonald of Vision Cellars in town from Sonoma to taste us through his wines and to join us for lunch at Harold and Belle's Creole Restaurant. Mac is generally seen pouring at by-invitation-only Wine Spectator events, or as part of a triple five star resort winemaker dinner.
His hand-crafted wines are world class and have found their way onto the menus of Spago, Valentino and the White House. Mac is a pioneer, as one of the first award-winning, African-American winemakers in the country.
Your ticket includes one 3-ounce pour of the following 4 wines and a presentation by Mac. Guests will order lunch on their own from Harold and Belle's Creole menu. Wines are available for purchase at a discount to attendees the day of the event.
Vision Cellars White Wine, 2011. 88% Sauvignon Blanc/12% Pinot Gris. Stainless steel aged. Crisp with great acidity, tempered by round stone and tree fruit. A superb match for gumbo and oysters.
Vision Cellars Pinot Noir, Chileno Valley, 2009 Aged in 15-20%% new and the rest used French oak, as are all of Mac's Pinot Noirs. This rich, meaty, aromatic wine is from a lesser known California growing region near the Petaluma gap.
