This event is FREE but you must RSVP
Did you know that Creative Capital opens for submissions for film and video projects only every two years? You must not miss this opportunity to apply for their upcoming cycle! Being selected by Creative Capital means getting support for your current project and also for your future as an artist and filmmaker. If submitting a succesful proposal to Creative Capital makes you nervous then don't miss this special intimitate session with Lisa Dent, Director of Grants & Services, who will be at WMM to explain their process in depth and share tips about how to submit an application for a film project that stands out. They support innovative and adventurous artists across the country through funding, counsel and career development services by providing each funded project with up to $50,000 in direct funding and career development services valued at $40,000, for a total commitment of up to $90,000 per project. Their pioneering approach-inspired by venture-capital principles-helps artists working in all creative disciplines realize their visions and build sustainable practices that will continue to inform them throughout the creation of future projects. Past grantees include Laura Poitras (The Oath), Yance Ford (Strong Island), Natalia Almada (El General), and Jennifer Fox (FLYING: Confessions of A Free Woman). Submissins for their next cycle for their Film/Video and Visual Arts grants opens February 3, 2014.
