Meet the Broadcasters: A Conversation About International Broadcasting
Wednesday, April 25, 2012, 6:30 - 8:30pm
How can US-based filmmakers finance their films through international coproduction? What films are right for European broadcasters? Does it make sense for you to submit your film to international pitching forums and markets? And if you do, how can you best pitch your project? Join Executive Director, Debra Zimmerman, in an intimate conversation with Axel Arno, Commissioning Editor for SVT, Swedish Television, responsible for current affairs, special series and creative documentaries and Heather Croall, Director of Doc Fest, the Sheffield International Film Festival. Axel moderates the Forum at the International Documentary Film Festival of Amsterdam (IDFA), attends pitching forums around the world, and is the Chairman of the European Broadcasters Union Documentary Group. Heather is the developer of the innovative matchmaking pitching initiative The MeetMarket, now regarded as one of Europe’s leading pitching markets attracting over 100 buyers and hundreds of applicants. Both are uniquely qualified to give filmmakers the inside scoop! We are lucky to have them, so don't miss this panel discussion.
