Join us for a practical and spiritual view on the prevention of cancer with Dr. Somdat Mahabir and Sister Gita.
Dr. Somdat Mahabir obtained his PhD from New York University, MPH from New York Medical College. MS from New York Institute of Technology And Diploma in Cancer Prevention from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) where he received his post-doctoral training in Cancer Epidemiology. He is a cancer research scientist and scientific officer on several large scale cancer studies. He has published over 40 scientific papers related to cancer and has delivered several lectures on understanding and prevention of cancer in the US, UK and other countries. He has been honored with several prestigious awards.
He is currently on the Editorial Boards of Cancer Medicine and Journal of Tumor and has served as a peer-reviewer for several cancer journals. Dr. Mahabir currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at New York Institute of Technology.

There is a large garage with metered parking (free on weekends and after 7:00PM on weekdays) one block away on Bonifant street on the same side of Georgia Avenue as the Museum. The garage address is Bonifant-Dixon (Garage 5/55), 1101 Bonifant St, Silver Spring, MD 20910.
PLEASE NOTE: Do not park in the Pyramid Atlantic Parking lot next door to the Museum. If you park there your car may be towed. This is a private lot for Pyramid Atlantic customers only.
The Meditation Museum is an easy 10 minute walk from the Silver Spring Metro Station on the Red Line.
