MEDILL SCHOOL OF JOURNALISM Presents: Community Media Innovation Project Fall 2010
Thursday, December 9, 2010 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM (CST)
A class of master’s students at the Medill School of Journalism has spent the fall looking at locally focused Internet publishing. The class’s work was supported by The Chicago Community Trust's Community News Matters program.
At this presentation, the class will lay out strategies for understanding audiences and generating revenue in local online markets. In addition, the class will unveil a new Web site prototype demonstrating new approaches to engagement around local news on the Web.
If you cannot attend the presentation, it
will be streamed live (and archived for later viewing) at http://bit.ly/CMIP2010
You can follow the students’ work on the class blog: http://www.localfourth.com . The first result of the class, a research report on how local news websites can build revenue, is available now at: http://bit.ly/Sustaining-Hyperlocal-News.
