Mec Dec Day 2014

Meck Dec Day with David Barton

Meck Dec Day marks the day a group of concerned Mecklenburg County citizens gathered to make the first declaration of independence more than a year before the United States Declaration of Independence.

On May 20th, 2014 you are invited to join business leaders, teachers, entrepreneurs, pastors and citizens from around the Queen City as we once again gather on Meck Deck Day to remember the biblical principles that our nation was built upon.  Join us for lunch at 11 am at First Baptist Church in Charlotte as we establish Charlotte as the re-birth place of our nation's heritage and independence.

Keynote speaker of the day, David Barton, the founder of WallBuilders from Dallas-Fort Worth, is passionate about seeing America return to her roots of faith and freedom. Though attacked by some, David's books and teachings expose the historical truth of our founding father's intentions and stir up a hunger for Godliness in America once again.

Benham Brothers

The Benham Brothers recently found themselves in the headline news when HGTV cancelled their Charlotte-based reality TV series, 'Flip It Forward', set to air in October. The Benham Brothers will share their story and will make their first public appearance to share their story at Meck Dec Day. Learn more about Benham Brothers

David Barton and his WallBuilders organization seek to change lives, and thereby to change America. According to testimonials, this is occurring:

"David's materials . . . have given me and other legislators the courage to defend the moral values that made our country great." --State Senator Ellen Craswell (Washington)

"It is an honor to collaborate with David Barton and Wallbuilders, and I urge people of all denominations to become familiar with the resources he offers." --Father Frank Pavone, Priests for Life

"David's commitment to quality research and to making America a better place for our children shines through in all of his professional activities." --Former Congressman Bill Dannemeyer (California)

"Seeing how far our country has moved from its beginnings and the original intent of our Founding Fathers has encouraged me to be very active politically to try to bring about a move back to our beginnings." --Connie Potter, presentation attendee (Washington)

David Barton is the Founder and President of WallBuilders, a national pro-family organization that presents America's forgotten history and heroes, with an emphasis on our moral, religious and constitutional heritage.

Frequently seen on Fox News & Glenn Beck, David Barton is often described as "America's historian" - Time Magazine called him "a hero to millions - including some powerful politicians. In fact, Time Magazine named him as one of America's 25 most influential evangelicals.

His exhaustive research has rendered him an expert in historical and constitutional issues and he serves as a consultant to state and federal legislators, has participated in several cases at the Supreme Court, was involved in the development of the history/social studies standards for states such as Texas and California, and has helped produce history textbooks now used in schools across the nation.
