Mayor's Mentoring Alliance Presents: Surviving In Poverty
Thursday, November 14, 2013 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM (EST)
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
Have you ever wondered why it seems so difficult for some people to escape poverty? Have you ever wanted to help but not known how? The MMA is teaming up with Crisis Assistance Ministry so our agencies and their volunteers will have a better understanding of the population we serve.
This 2-hour poverty simulation exposes participants to the realities of poverty, including the challenges of navigating the complex world of government services and other essential service providers.
Participants will assume the roles of families. Their task is to provide basic necessities and shelter during four 15-minute weeks, while balancing the requirements of various service providers with the realities of daily life.
The training is open to MMA agencies, staff and volunteers.
Space is limited!
Parking note - park in Lot B and follow the signs to Spirit Hall
