Topic: 2012 Verizon Data Breach Report
Speaker: Araceli Gomes, Managing Director, Security and Cloud Engineering at Verizon / Terremark and ISSA San Diego Programs Director
Synopsis: The Annual Verizon Data Breach Report provides in depth analysis on 850 data breaches in 2012. By understanding who the attackers are, how they get in and what they are targeting we can better defend our systems. Araceli Gomes will provide an overview of the 2012 report and the attack trends it identifies. She will also discuss how organizations can use the Verizon Enterprise Risk and Incident Sharing (VERIS) framework to collect data on their own security incidents.
Bio: Araceli Gomes is a network and information security professional with broad experience in large carrier, financial, and service provider networks. Her focus is on security technologies and global security process, model, policy, and practice management.
