Q. Why can't I lose weight?
A. The answer to this question has much more to do with your hormones than how much you eat or how much you exercise. The specific hormones are the Big 3: Leptin, Cortisol and DHEA. Leptin is the hormone that tells your body to burn fat. If your Leptin is out of balance, despite your best efforts with diet and exercise, you will not be able to lose weight. Cortisol is a stress hormone that causes elevated blood sugar, increased fat storage around the mid-section and decreased immune function. DHEA works inversely with cortisol. It causes you to feel younger, prevents osteoporosis, build muscle and burn fat.
