The workshop will be geared toward non-profit grant writers and fundraising professionals interested in learning how to best utilize Census Bureau data to create stronger grant proposals and reports. The workshop will cover:

  • Overview of the Census Bureau
  • What we do the other 9 years after the decennial count!
  • Census and American Community Survey selected characteristics (for cities in Orange County)
  • What we know about Grant Writing - we offer some tips and resources
  • Accessing Census Data to support Grant Proposals - hands-on training

Presenter: Armando Mendoza,  Data Dissemination Specialist, Los Angeles Region of the U.S. Census Bureau

Schedule: 11:30-12:00 Networking (bring your own lunch!)

                 12:00-1:30  Census Data Presentation (bring your lap-top for an interactive demonstration!)
