A DARK COMEDIC TALE OF LOVE, BETRAYAL, AND THE FICKLE NATURE OF HUMAN MORALITY.

STARRING: EDWARD FURLONG, WITH LEE MAJORS, MARGOT KIDDER, AND GARY BUSEY

Nicholas grew up in Seattle and is extremely proud to present this film to his hometown. He will be in attendance and will be available for a Q&A session following the screening along with lead actor Edward Furlong and other members of the cast and crew.

Following the Q&A you are invited to attend the STIFF 2013 Awards Ceremony Hosted by Emmett Montgomery in the AMC Pacific Place Lounge.

Featuring a strong cast anchored by acclaimed actor Edward Furlong, Matt’s Chance, a dark comedy described as a “a cross between the whimsical anti-love of 500 Days of Summer, and the grunge chaos of Crank,” is the work of Seattle-born producer/writer Nicholas Gyeney, directing his third feature film.

Matt’s Chance is a darkly comedic tale of love, revenge, and the fickle nature of human morality. It tells the story of Matt, a down-on-his-luck loser who on his birthday night discovers his fiancée, Jessica, in bed with another man. As Matt learns the true depth of Jessica’s betrayal, he begins a downward spiral revenge quest that pits him face to face with a wide array of characters including an eccentric pawn shop owner (Gary Busey), an aging stripper (Margot Kidder), and a barber with an agenda (Lee Majors). Edward Furlong, who has appeared in groundbreaking films such as Terminator 2: Judgment day and American History X, along with cult hits like Detroit Rock City lends his talents to an intimate cast that includes Gary Busey (Lethal Weapon, Point Break), Margot Kidder (Superman, Superman II), and Lee Majors (The Six Million Dollar Man).

Both comedic and moving, Matt’s Chance is a unique combination of dark comedy and dramatic film. With a creative screenplay co-written by Nicholas Gyeney and Seattle comedian Edi Zanidache, the film looks to draw a wide-ranging audience on the strength of its ingenuity and universal emotional appeal.
