Please read all information carefully...
This workshop targets BEST students, teachers and mentors who want to learn more about robot programming and simulation using MathWorks.
This workshop will include 2-days of hands-on, face-to-face instruction by a specially trained instructor. The curriculum will cover MATLAB and Simulink programming, use of multiple robot sensors, and programming autonomous operations.
Small Arduino-based robot platforms will be used during the workshop and will be provided by BEST Robotics. The robots will NOT be distributed to participants at conclusion. The bots are MiniQ 2wd which has an Arduino Leonardo controller but also integrates useful sensors such as buzzer, RGB LED, photosensitive diode, infrared LED receiver and compass.
The skills acquired during the workshop will be directly applicable to the programming skills required in the BEST Robotics competition. The exact same MATLAB/Simulink products are usable on a multitude of platforms including the VEX Cortex.
All participants will use their own laptop computers with software preloaded. Once registered we will email you the link for the download prior to the workshop. A small $20 fee will be charged per participant to offset program costs. (Note: If a participant does not have a laptop to use, we will have Faulkner State Community College computers available to use during the training).
Participants will register here with Jubilee, but will also be directed to register with BEST Robotics, Inc on their Eventbrite site to pay the $20 fee. A follow-up email will be sent to you once registered.
