Registration and Introductions (Refreshments Provided)

9:00 - 9:45

Micro-Sample Analysis by FTIR Microscopy

Methods and sample preparation will be discussed. Specific examples in defect and trace analysis for polymer and pharmaceutical materials are highlighted.

9:45 - 10:30

Delivering on the LIMS promise: Go Paperless!

Learn how PerkinElmer Informatics can address critical bottlenecks that are present in many laboratories through more effective use of your existing LIMS/ERP systems.

10:30 - 10:50

Break (Refreshments Provided) Test Your Gem Station Active

10:50 - 11:30

Complimenting Organic Elemental Analysis with TGA-FTIR

Discover how CHNS analysis of materials can be greatly assisted by understanding the decomposition properties of the sample under investigation. TGA is a primary method for determining this additional information. Example data will include biofuel feed stocks.

11:30 - 12:15

UV/Vis/NIR Techniques for Qualitative and Quantitative Analysis

Topics include small sample volumes, textiles, and the analysis of solid samples. The accessories required to analyze these challenging samples will be discussed and example data will be presented to show the benefit of these approaches.

12:15 - 1:30

Lunch (Provided) Test Your Gem Station Active

1:30 - 2:15

High Throughput Analysis of Common Thermoplastics

A demonstration of HyperDSC experiments completing in less than ten minutes as well as Auto Stepwise TGA measurements for decreased instrument time without a loss in data quality for polyolefins and polyamides.

2:15 - 3:00

Quantitative Analysis by FTIR

Choosing the correct mode of measurement as well as predictive method. Example techniques such ATR and NIRA will be demonstrated for the measurement of chemicals, polymers and pharmaceutical materials.
