Master Forest Owner Workshop: Managing Private Woodlots
Saturday, October 12, 2013 from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
This workshop will provide the opportunity for local landowners to meet with trained Cornell Master Forest Owner (MFO) volunteers and staff from Cornell University and Cornell Cooperative Extension, the Cary Institute for Ecosystem Studies, and Dutchess Land Conservancy. Participants will learn strategies and resources to help them better manage their property to meet land management objectives. The MFO volunteers can also arrange for a free woods walk of forest owner properties to help owners find the resources they need to achieve their goals. In addition, the workshop provides a great opportunity to learn more about local land conservation and ecosystem research in the Hudson Valley. Anyone with an interest in forest stewardship, or interested in becoming a trained MFO Volunteer, is especially encouraged to attend! For more information on the MFO Program, see: http://www2.dnr.cornell.edu/ext/mfo.
