Are you aware of the workplace lactation accommodations that were enacted with the 2010 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA)?
Do you know the requirements?
Is your facility in compliance? Do you need a solution? What are the current best practices?
I am Qena McCarty, a woman entrepreneur participant in the Texas State University RampCorp Program. I am excited to tell you about my innovative partnership with GSC Architects to develop best practice lactation room designs (and products) for workplace and public facilities needing to comply with the 2010 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
At 10:00am-11:30AM on December 8, 2011, and again at 10:00am-11:30AM on December 15, 2011, GSC and Qena McCarty will host meetings at the GSC office to discuss compliance issues and industry solutions for lactation accommodation in facilities. Other presenters will be the State Breastfeeding Coordinator and the Mother’s Milk Bank to discuss workplace lactation programs and employed mother milk donors that pump at work facilities.
The presentation will cover the legal requirements, who is affected, benefits, potential solutions, and market research on best practices. You will view prototypes of the Lactette, a patent-pending commercial building product being developed for sanitary, efficient, and compliant lactation rooms. You will have the opportunity to participate in an interactive Q&A session to provide feedback on the prototypes and best practice solutions.
I hope you will join me and invited attendees representing building owners, facility managers, venue managers, human resource professionals, and large employers in this educational and participative event. Please register for this free event.
