Event Details

1992 – directed by Mark Rappaport / 1959 – directed by Michael Gordon – with Rock Hudson and Doris Day

VIDEOLOGY presents QUEER WINDOW – an ongoing series of LGBTQ films of the past, present & future.

When the news broke a few months ago that Boston University professor Ray Carney was essentially holding the work of seminal independent filmmaker Mark Rappaport (THE SCENIC ROUTE) hostage, the online cinephile community took note. Now, with Carney still silent on the issue, supporters of Rappaport are taking to Kickstarter to set things, uh, straight. We’re doing our part by hosting a benefit double feature of his groundbreaking collage film ROCK HUDSON’S HOME MOVIES – a candid portrait of coded moments from the closeted star’s Hollywood oeuvre – and the Hudson/Doris Day classic PILLOW TALK.

63/102 minutes

All ticket sales will go directly into the forthcoming Kickstarter to transfer Mark’s 16mm negatives to digital masters.

“ROCK HUDSON’S HOME MOVIES… is a savvy and entertaining compilation. Its net effect is best conveyed by Mr. Farr, whose ‘Rock’ asks, ‘Who can look at my movies the same way ever again?’” – Janet Maslin, New York Times
