An event for:

  • Startups looking to develop apps, systems and digital properties for the cannabis industry.
  • Enthusiasts looking to join a marijuana tech startup on the ground floor.
  • Investors looking for opportunities in the marijuana tech industry.

How it Works

On Friday evening, competitors who have purchased pitch tickets will have two minutes to present their marijuana tech startup or concept to the audience. After each competitor has presented, those without fully formed teams can then recruit developers and other talent in order to generate as much traction as possible over the remainder of the weekend. On Sunday evening, each team will pitch their progress to the judges.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the top 3 companies.

Winner: $2,500
2nd Place: $1,000
3rd Place: $500

Q: Can I pitch an existing marijuana tech company?

  • Yes! The goal of the event is to generate as much traction as possible over the course of the weekend. This can be by creating an entirely new product, adding new features to an existing one or by focusing on scaling an existing system.

Q: Can I find a developer at the event?

  • There will be several developers at the event, however there is no guarantee that they will join your team. We would suggest finding a programmer before the event so you're ready to hit the ground running. MassRoots' and CannaBuild's technical teams will be at the event all weekend to offer assistance and support (however, they will not build your products for you!)

Q: What criteria will judges evaluate startups/concepts by?

  • On Sunday night, pitches will be evaluated on the traction they generated over the course of the weekend. Traction can come in the form of sales, product launch, new product features, gaining users and raising capital.

Q: Does MassRoots take any equity from participants?

  • No, MassRoots does not take any equity from participants.

Q: Will there be investors at the event?

  • Absolutely, several investors looking to invest in marijuana technology start-ups will be evaluating the pitches and mentoring teams.

Q: Will there be press at the event?

  • The event is open to the press and we expect several reporters will be in attendance.

Q: Can I smoke at the event?

  • If you're over the age of 21 OR over the age of 18 with a valid Colorado Red Card, you can smoke at the event.
