Marietta Massey Youth Council Teen Summit
Saturday, February 22, 2014 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM (EST)
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
This event is created to uplift and give teens and pre-teens something different to hear and see, to try to broaden their horizons. This event is dedicated to challenging the minds - and in some cases - the life direction of teens. It will also allow kids with plans and goals another avenue to learn how to get more out of life. We want to reach out to kids that may need some help in finding some direction. Our panel was put together with dynamic leadership in mind. Our panel includes business professionals from all walks of life. They will talk about what it took for them to get where they are in life and what it takes to maintain their success. They will educate the youth by their own experiences and show them they have options other than drugs, crime, gangs, and the streets.
When & Where
Warren Moore, Marietta Massey Youth Council Director; Carlotta Ervin, Youth Council Directress
This event is being hosted by a local branch of the largest black fraternal organization in the world, The International Benevolent and Protective of Elks of the World. Sterling Lodge #344 and Living beauty #709 have been serving the community since 1926. Through the principles of charity, justice, brotherly/sisterly love and fidelity, the organization is dedicated to giving back to the community through many charitable acts. When approached about hosting the event, they were quick to accept because of their dedication to the enrichment of the lives of our children. The Marietta Massey Youth Council #166, the youth division of Sterling Lodge, will lead the summit through dedication, commitment and hard work to make sure this will be the first of many events aimed at the betterment of our children.
