Popular Art Walk tours of The Times continue with an evening tour of The Times' Olympic Printing Plant, the largest newspaper plant in the United States.
On the free1.5 hour walking tour you will see amazing sights -- laser-guided robots move huge rolls of newsprint, newsprint rolls stacked over 50' high and four-story Goss Colorliner presses in action, literally roaring and cranking out the next day's edition of newspaper. It is an impressive experience getting up-close and personal to a big city press at full tilt. Don't forget to bring your camera.
Led by 36-year-veteran Darrell Kunitomi, this is one of the best production plant tours in the city and suitable for ages 8 and up. The tour fulfills a Scout requirement for merit badges, just like the kids in the photo above. Soft-soled shoes are recommended due to slippery footing.
There is free, secure parking, and we are disabled accessible.
Only the first 100 people to RSVP will be allowed on the tour, so don't delay.
