Hear from venture capitalists, angel investors and strategic investors on how to obtain funding, hot areas of investing, relationships with investors, and attracting capital. Five startups  give a  5 minute pitch to the panel of investors and hear their feedback. The focus is on startups in digital media, apps, games, mobile and web services or applications.  If you would like to pitch, send an email to for details.

While at RazorGator Lord spearheaded the growth of the RazorGator brand and raised Series A and B financing. Prior to RazorGator, Lord served as chief executive officer and chairman of the board for, a venture-backed catalog company for educational, ecommerce, and retail products. During his time there, Lord established the company as the #1 brand in “Good Toys”, building brand awareness from zero to 45% in less than four months while increasing revenue over 500% each year. David was raised in Boston, Massachusetts and holds a BSA in Accounting from Northeastern University.

David Blumberg, Managing Partner, Blumberg Capital
David has been investing in early stage technology companies for more than 24 years. His current investment focus includes Digital Media, Social Media, Mobility, SaaS/Technology Enabled Services and Internet. Prior to founding Blumberg Capital in 1991, David managed technology investments with Claridge Investments, Adler & Co., Apax, and T. Rowe Price Associates. David launched the business development efforts for Check Point Software Technologies.
David earned his AB in Government, cum laude, from Harvard College and his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and INSEAD. David speaks French and is proficient in Hebrew and Spanish. Bruce K. Taragin, Managing Director, Blumberg Capital
Bruce has 17 years experience as a venture capital investor, entrepreneur, technology investment banker and corporate attorney.  Prior to joining Blumberg Capital in 1998, Bruce co-founded and held several senior management positions within technology companies including Charles River Computers. Bruce also structured and managed early-stage technology transactions at Hambrecht & Quist, Mayer Brown & Platt and Bankers Trust Company. A native of New York, Bruce earned his BA in Finance and Communications, cum laude, from Yeshiva University, and his MBA and JD from Fordham University. Jay H. Eum, Co-Founder and Managing Director, TransLink Capital
Jay H. Eum is a co-founder and Managing Director of TransLink Capital. Jay is responsible for TransLink's investments in Carbonite, Enterprise DB, Livescribe, SoundHound, and XSigo as well as supporting TransLink's portfolio companies with their customers and partners primarily in Korea.
Most recently, Jay was the head of Samsung Ventures America. He was responsible for starting up the U.S. operations for Samsung Venture Investment Corp., the venture investment arm of Samsung, and leading their U.S.-based investments and portfolio management. Under Jay's leadership, Samsung Ventures America grew to a team of five investment professionals and invested over US$80M in 27 U.S.-based start-up companies. Jay directly led several successful Samsung Ventures' investments including AnalogTech (NASDAQ: AATI), Athena Semiconductor (acquired by Broadcom),  DivX (NASDAQ: DIVX),  Intellon (NASDAQ: ITLN, acquired by  Atheros), MontaVista (acquired by Cavium), Pure Digital (acquired by Cisco), and Techwell (NASDAQ: TWLL) and Teknovus (acquired by Broadcom).  Jay also led investments in Continuous Computing, GCT Semiconductor, InPhi, Intematix, Sandbridge and SiBeam.
Prior to joining Samsung, Jay was an investment officer with the Silicon Valley office of Vertex Management, a global VC firm headquartered in Singapore. At Vertex, Jay focused on investments in communications, mobile, and Internet including GRIC Communications (NASDAQ: GRIC).  He also represented Vertex at several portfolio companies including PayPal (acquired by eBay), Mobile 365 (acquired by Sybase), Aicent, and R2 Technology. Before Vertex, Jay was Senior Director of business development at Dialpad Communications (acquired by Yahoo), where he closed strategic partnerships with Microsoft, Cisco, and Earthlink. Jay also worked as an Associate at McKinsey in Palo Alto, New York, Beijing, and Seoul and at Goldman Sachs in Hong Kong.

Samir Gupte, Associate, Comcast Interactive Capital
Samir is responsible for analyzing and reviewing business plans, conducting diligence of potential investments and analyzing industry research. Samir is at CIC based in our Silicon Valley office. Prior to joining CIC, Samir worked in the Corporate Development Group at Yahoo! where he was involved in the acquisitions of Zimbra and Maven Networks along with various other corporate initiatives. Preceding Yahoo!, Samir was a Senior Analyst at Cornerstone Research where he worked closely with leading academic experts to analyze economic and financial issues arising in business litigation. Maha Ibrahim, General Partner, Caanan Partners
Maha Ibrahim invests in innovative cloud, mobile, and digital media companies with the potential to become global market leaders. Maha is known in the venture industry for her ability to spot technology trends early, foster growth at her portfolio companies through hands-on operational guidance, and achieve profitable exits for entrepreneurs and investors. Maha joined Canaan’s Menlo Park office in March 2000. Bob Borchers, Partner, Opus Capital
A mobile and consumer marketing veteran with more than 20 years operating experience, Bob Borchers comes to Opus Capital from Apple, Inc where he served as Sr. Director of Worldwide Product Marketing for the iPhone. At Opus Borchers is focused on investments in mobile applications and services as well as adjacent opportunities in both hardware and software. As part of the original iPhone team, Bob was instrumental in the development, launch and global expansion of the revolutionary iPhone, iPhone OS, App Store. While at Apple he also led the Nike+iPod partnership, expanded the iPod accessory ecosystem, and forged relationships with every major auto company to provide iPod integration.

Prior to Apple, Bob was Vice President of Marketing at FusionOne, a pioneer in creating and marketing mobility solutions. Bob also spent six years at Nokia where he co-founded and served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the Vertu business unit. Before his career in the mobile industry, Bob worked for Nike, Inc. in Beaverton, Oregon, where he led efforts in product and service personalization. He began his career doing research and development in prosthetics. Bob holds a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University and a Masters Degree from a joint program between the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Harvard Medical School in Health Sciences and Technology. Ping Lee, Accel Partners, Partner
Ping has been with Accel Partners since 2004. He focuses primarily on software and digital media investments with specific interest in cloud computing, big data/storage, mobile and gaming. He currently is a Board Member of BitTorrent, Cloudera, Lookout, Mu Dynamics, Nimbula, Raptr, ScaleXtreme, and YuMe. Ping was also responsible for several Accel investments which have had successful exits including Ludic Labs (Groupon), Mochi Media (Shanda) and Reactivity (Cisco). Ping has over 15 years of experience as a technology investor and operating executive in helping build market leading technology companies and product lines. Prior to Accel, Ping worked at Juniper Networks as a Senior Product Line Manager for their flagship M-series router products, as well as Director of Corporate Development. Ping was actively involved in Juniper's multi-billion dollar acquisition of Netscreen Technologies. He also served as a strategy consultant for McKinsey & Company, advising technology clients in their growth strategies. Ping has extensive international experience as well. At Singapore Telecom, he served directly for the executive management team in operating and investing in Asian growth opportunities. Prior to SingTel, Ping worked at Goldman Sachs Asia, transacting technology IPOs and M&A.
