Jay and Crispin, will talk about their collaberation on the film, Silver Linings Playbook. There will be plenty of time for questions.
Plus, filmmaker Richard Gale will answer the question "Can You Make Money On You Tube?" Richard will screen his viral short film The Horribly Slow Murderer with the Extremely Inefficient Weapon With over 21 million views, did he make any money?

Award winning filmmaker Richard Gale will discuss his experiences of taking his popular short film The Horribly Slow Murderer with the Extremely Inefficient Weapon from the festival circuit to YouTube, where it went viral (over 22 Million views) and opened up a world of new opportunities. Learn about the types of shorts that work best on YouTube, the secrets of some of the most successful producers, and how to capitalize on YouTube popularity to enhance your career as a filmmaker. Gale will also screen and discuss the making of Horribly Slow Murderer, a 10-minute epic comedy short which took 23 days of shooting!
About Richard Gale
Three-time L.A. Area Emmy winner Richard Gale has been producing, writing, directing and editing documentaries, feature films, and shorts for over 20 years. He directed and co-wrote the feature films The Proposal starring Jennifer Esposito (Crash) and Stephen Lang (Avatar), released by Miramax, and Pressure starring Kerr Smith (Final Destination). With a desire for greater creative control over his work, Gale started a production company to produce his own films. The first was the horror short CRITICIZED, which won 19 film festival awards. Next was the horror comedy short The Horribly Slow Murderer with the Extremely Inefficient Weapon, which Gale wrote, directed, shot, and edited. The film won 16 film festival awards, and went on to become a viral hit on YouTube with more than 22 Million views and an international cult following. Gale is a member of the Directors Guild of America and the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

Monica Daniel will show us how she used subtle and not so subtle effects to tell the story of the "opens" that were used on recent Red Carpet Award Shows for E!. All effects were cut in Avid Media Composer.
About Monica Daniel
I have been a gymnast, a band geek, a flag twirler, a dancer and a choreographer, and it is in the entertainment industry that I have found my true passion in post-production. My technical savvy and need for creative expression have lead me to editing, where I have honed my visual storytelling skills in many styles. I have worked in television and independent features as an editor and colorist. Currently I am a lead editor for some of NBC/Universal’s cable networks and I have worked on documentary features that have been released worldwide by Miramax and Starz.

About Jay Cassidy
JayCassidy A.C.E. began his career as a film editor in the 1970s working on documentaries and political advertisements and has edited more than 30 films.
His most recent credit is SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK which was nominated for eight Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Film Editing. The film also won the People's Choice Award at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival as well as being nominated for four Golden Globes and five Spirit Awards. The American Film Institute chose the film as the AFI Movie of the Year.
He has collaborated with Sean Penn on all the films Penn has directed, most notably "INTO THE WILD"(2007) for which Cassidy was nominated for an Academy Award for Film Editing. Other credits include "An Inconvenient Truth (2006), which won the Academy Award for Best Documentary in 2007, "BROTHERS" (2009), "CONVICTION" (2010) and "WAITING FOR SUPERMAN" (2010). Cassidy is a member of theAcademy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and American Cinema Editors.
Crispin was born in San Francisco and grew up in Scotland. He graduated from The University of Edinburgh with honors in physics. He has work on such films asROCKNROLLA, EAGLE EYE and I AM NUMBER FOUR.
Crispin is currently working editing UNTITLED WOLF ADVENTURE for Walt Disney Pictures, a feature directed by Dave Green and produced by Andrew Panay.
