Jane McIntyre is the beloved veteran of nonprofits who stepped in and did what no one else could do—bring United Way Central Carolinas back from the edge. Before that she resurrected the YWCA from debt and a downward slide.
Jane is a spirited straight-shooter with a penchant for great stories; and she has a gleam in her eye for the jobs no one else wants. She has a unique gift for knowing how to build trust, which is the performance engine for non-profits and for-profit alike.
In her talk at Interact Studio, “Restoring Trust in Your Organization,” Jane will share her insights into overcoming the obstacles of change and loss of trust.
A native of Rock Hill, S.C., Jane majored in special education at Columbia College. She joined Carolinas Healthcare System and its Foundation where she held various leadership roles. Jane earned an executive MBA from Queens University of Charlotte when she was 50. She also found time to win election to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School Board and served for eight years. She was recruited for the United Way from her position as CEO of the YWCA (a United Way partner agency), where she’d been for nine years, leading a major turnaround of the organization that had been dangerously close to shutting down.
