MAPS 3 | Core to Shore Update

Join us to hear David Todd, Program Manager for the MAPS 3 Program, speak about the latest project opportunities. MAPS 3 is funded by a limited term, one-cent sales tax initiative that began in April 2010 and ends in December 2017. The initiative funds eight projects and is estimated to raise $777 million.
We will also hear from Cathy O’Connor, President and CEO of the Alliance for Economic Development of Oklahoma City, a non-profit corporation designed to coordinate public participation in economic development projects. Prior to becoming President of the Alliance, Ms. O’Connor served as an Assistant City Manager with the City of Oklahoma City. Ms. O’Connor enjoyed an almost 30 year career with the City and served in positions that included the City’s Capital Improvement Budget Officer, Budget Director and Finance Director. During her tenure, the City undertook an ambitious planning process to redevelop 750 acres of underutilized land between the core of downtown to the shore of the Oklahoma River called Core to Shore. Ms. O’Connor served on the steering committee for this effort.

The Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) is a community of marketing and business development professionals working to secure profitable business relationships for their A/E/C companies. Through networking, business intelligence, and research, SMPS members gain a competitive advantage in positioning their firms successfully in the marketplace. SMPS offers members professional development, leadership opportunities, and marketing resources to advance their careers.
In September of 2001, a small group of A/E/C marketers met and quickly decided that an SMPS chapter in Oklahoma was desperately needed to help firms within the state join together to form stronger partnerships and also to offer training opportunities for its members. Within three months officers were elected, Articles of Incorporation were filed, and on December 11, 2001, Oklahoma was declared the 50th SMPS chapter in the nation.
