Starting on the East River Greenway @ 61st St.
(Just south of the 61st St. Dog Run at the bottom of the ramp, East 61
St. @ greenway)
Please join us for a 32 mile bike ride around the perimeter of Manhattan. The ride will be a very easy going pace (10-12mph). We will explore existing portions of the East Coast Greenway which include the 13 miles of the Hudson River Greenway from Northern Manhattan all the way down to Battery Park. We will also ride the East River Greenway and highlight some of the gaps which exist. The ECG is working in collaboration with other groups to close these gaps along the East River Greenway. The ride will finish at Glick Park at 37th Street around 2:00 PM.
Nearest Public Transit to the start: 4,5,6 train to 59 street
Option for riders coming from New Jersey: The ECG will have a ride leader meeting people at the Hoboken/14th St. Ferry which will take riders to 39th Street in Manhattan. The group will then ride across Manhattan to meet the ride starting at 61st St. at 10:00AM. The Ferry will leave at 9:00AM sharp. The ECG will lead riders from the finsh back to the ferry at 39th St. ferry. Please bring money for the ferry, $20 round trip. For more info on the ferry go to www.nywaterway.com
