Event Details

Join the Open Security Foundation for pizza and drinks, and help us improve the quality of the OSVDB and DataLossDB datasets.  We'll show you how to "mangle" vulnerabilities, data loss incidents, FOIA request documents, legal documents, and more.  In the process you'll learn, eat, and drink, and hopefully make some positive enhancements to both data sets for the benefit of the Information Security community.

Don't feel like mangling?  Sit with the lead developer and help write API bindings, or suggest improvements and see them implemented.  Help us help, well...everyone!

Some simple rules:

  • If you show up, you mangle or you code.  This isn't a free lunch! :)
  • Clothing is not optional (even for Lyger)

Sessions:

Tickets are broken up into 5-6 hour sessions.  If you intend to spend the whole day, go ahead and get a ticket for each slot.  Space is limited, so please take up only what you need, and if your plans change, please let us know so that we can cancel your ticket and free up the slot for someone else.

Voltage

Food and Drink:

Voltage Security is sponsoring the event, and providing food and drink!

What to Bring:

A laptop is a must.

About OSVDB:

OSVDB is an independent and open source database created by and for the security community. The goal of the project is to provide accurate, detailed, current, and unbiased technical information on security vulnerabilities. The project will promote greater, more open collaboration between companies and individuals, eliminate redundant works, and reduce expenses inherent with the development and maintenance of in-house vulnerability databases.

About DataLossDB:

DataLossDB is a research project aimed at documenting known and reported data loss incidents world-wide. The effort is now a community one, and with the move to Open Security Foundation's DataLossDB.org, asks for contributions of new incidents and new data for existing incidents.
