Please join Katz, Sapper & Miller's Not-for-Profit Services Group for our Summer 2016 Not-for-Profit Seminar on Managing Risk, Addressing Fraud.

Gerry Zack, CPA, of the Nonprofit Resource Center will be our featured presenter. Gerry is recognized as one of the nation's foremost authorities on the unique management issues of nonprofit organizations, specializing in issues such as anti-fraud, ethics, compliance and governance.

Featured topics include:
Risk Assessment and Management (8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.)
This session will explore key concepts of risk management based on the most commonly applied frameworks (COSO’s ERM) to improve performance and effectively accomplish the mission and objectives of nonprofit organizations.

Attendees will learn how to:
• Identify, assess and prioritize organizational and departmental risks
• Improve the ability to develop risk mitigation plans for identified risks
• Customize and apply a framework for managing risks

Internal Controls and Fraud Prevention (1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.)
This session will provide practical guidance on how fraud schemes are carried out against nonprofit organizations and describe best practices for preventing and detecting these schemes.

Attendees will learn how to:
• Understand how common fraud schemes are perpetrated
• Identify weaknesses in preventive and detective internal controls
• Design a risk-based system of internal controls designed to minimize exposure to internal and external fraud

The seminar will qualify for CPE credit.

A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.
