Patricia Bomba, MD, FACP will be the featured speaker at Making the MOLST (Medical Orders for Life Sustaining Treament) of Your Decisions, a free CVPH community lecture planned for Wednesday, Sept. 19 at 5:30 p.m. in the Warren Ballrooms, Angell College Center, SUNY Plattsburgh Campus. Dr. Bomba is vice president and medical director at Excellus BlueCross BlueShield and the creator of the MOLST Program in New York State. The community event is made possible by generous contributions from the Foundation of CVPH and Excellus BlueCross BlueShield.
Registration, refreshments and displays begin at 5:30 p.m. Dr. Bomba’s presentation will start at 6 with a question and answer period at 8 p.m. Printed resources on advance care planning, end-of-life-care and the MOLST Program will be available at the program free of charge. Making the MOLST of Your Decisions is hosted by the EXPLORE Consortium comprised of the Adirondack Chapter of Nurse Practitioners Assoc. of NYS, Adirondack Health, Clinton Community College, Alice Hyde Medical Center, Clinton County Health Department, CVPH, NYSNA District 8, Sigma Theta Tau International - Gamma Delta Chapter and SUNY Plattsburgh. The EXPLORE Consortium is also hosting a day-long program, End of Life: Making the MOLST of Your Decisions specifically for health care providers on Thursday, Sept. 20.
