Join IWPR to toast our 25th anniversary with a day of
dialog and forward-thinking discussion with leading experts!

The Institute for Women’s Policy Research (IWPR) will celebrate its first 25 years of making research count for women on May 22, 2013! The event will include an afternoon symposium of panels on the current and future status of women in the United States and abroad, followed by a special keynote by Acting U.S. Secretary of Commerce Rebecca Blank.
At 6 p.m., there will be an evening reception to kick off the next era of informing policy, inspiring change, and improving lives. All are welcome. 
Keynote speakers:
  • Dr. Heidi Hartmann, IWPR President. Opening keynote address: "What Have We Learned at IWPR About Achieving Economic and Political Equality for Women?"
  • Cindy Estrada, Vice President of the International Union, United Auto Workers (UAW) 
  • Rebecca Blank, Acting U.S. Secretary of Commerce. Keynote address: “Empowering Women in the Economy.” 
Panelists and other speakers:
  • Siobhan "Sam" Bennett, President & CEO of the Women's Campaign Fund. 
  • Martha Burk, Ph.D., author, co-founder of the Center for Advancement of Public Policy, Ms. Magazine Money Editor, and anchor of "Equal Time with Martha Burk" (moderator). 
  • Bryce Covert, Economic Policy Editor with ThinkProgress and contributor to The Nation
  • Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (D-CT).
