--- Overview ---

Hack Reactor Bootcamp Prep is a live, instructor-led, 4-week part-time course, geared towards students who are getting ready to interview at a coding bootcamp. In this program, you will:

• Solidify JavaScript fundamentals
• Practice problem solving strategies
• Practice pair programming and technical communication
• Do a 1-on-1 mock interview

If you are accepted into the Hack Reactor or MakerSquare Immersive Programs, 100% of the cost of this prep course will be put towards your Immersive tuition.

Class will run on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 6:30pm - 9:30pm starting September 19 and ending October 13. There are 12 total sessions.

Can't make this session due to scheduling conflicts, but excited to skill up and learn the fundamentals of JavaScript now? Remote Prep offers the same high quality program and curriculum and is offered in morning and evening sessions in both 4 and 7 week formats! Additionally, if you take Remote Prep, 100% of tuition you pay for it will be put towards your MakerSquare Immersive tuition.

Phase 1: Programming Fundamentals

The goal of Phase 1 to give students skills and confidence with JavaScript fundamentals. This will include an under-the-hood look at programming methods used across all languages. Topics include:

• Browsers and text editors
• Variables and naming
• Arrays and Objects
• Conditionals
• Looping/repetition
• Functions

Phase 2: Problem Solving Practice

The goal of Phase 2 is to apply the programming fundamentals that you've learned to problem statements. You will work on a variety of exercises, including some that mimic the Hack Reactor and MakerSquare interview.

• Debugging and troubleshooting
• Abstraction and modularization
• Solving word problems with code
• Developer mentality
• Testing
• Handling complexity
• Tidy coding
• Autonomous coding

Phase 3: Live Performance Practice

The goal of Phase 3 is to be able to problem solve when under the pressure of an interview situation. This culminates in a 1x1 mock interview with a staff member.
