Make a Solar Cooker and Learn to Use It!
Use the sun to cook your meal! Whether you want to be prepared for hot meals when the power is out, to reduce your energy costs, or just take it camping, solar cooking can be an answer.
With some basic materials you bring and some we provide, you'll make your own cooker during this workshop. The photo shows the simplest version, you can make more effective ones too.
We'll have several models on display for you to study, and several out cooking while you work. The food will be ready to taste before you leave.
Cooking instructions and sample recipes will be provided. When you register you'll be sent a detailed list of supplies to bring.
(Nothing expensive! Pot with lid, cooler or boxes, aluminum foil, cardboard, tape, knife.)
If you need more details before you register, contact instructor Mary Keith through the Contact the Host link on this page.
Class charge covers the materials we provide for making your cooker, the written materials you get to take home, and the food that we'll prepare and let the sun cook for us while you work. You'll get tastes before you leave.
