Event Details

Hired in 1948 by LIFE magazine as their first African American staff photographer, Gordon Parks was a modern day Renaissance man who also found success as a film director, author and composer.

Celebrate the life of Gordon Parks by viewing iconic images in our photographic art installation featuring some of his most beloved works, such as American Gothic, Washington D.C. 1942 during the month of February!

Men's Shop on the Mezzanine at 4PM

Join us "In Conversation" with Danny Simmons, Nelson George, Warrington Hudlin and Lauri Lyons for a spirited discussion on Gordon Parks' influence on film and the future of African-American cinema. Following the discussion, enjoy light refreshments. Plus, with any $50 or more purchase made during the event, receive a commemorative Gordon Parks journal.*

Please note that eventhough we have sold out of seating, you are still invited to join us for our event.**

Event subject to change or cancellation.  *While supplies last.  Limited to one per customer. **Seating available to those with tickets.  All other guests will be in the standing room.
