Machik Weekend is an annual weekend long event hosted by Machik, a nonprofit organization that works directly with communities inside Tibet. The gathering brings together a diverse community of people who support Machik's mission to incubate social innovation in Tibet. This year marks the 8th annual Machik Weekend. Through roundtables, panels and informal discussions, participants share their experiences and learn about the broader issues at stake in the project of social engagement.
Machik Weekend is a truly unique gathering of a diverse and inspired group of individuals who share a common concern to engage in Tibet for a stronger future. It is a weekend of exploration, conversations and new encounters. You will meet people who are passionate about the ideals of service, civic engagement and constructive change.
The theme of the conference this year is ‘Engaging Tibet’ with a special focus on innovation. Our goal is to garner conversation on social innovation in Tibet and its importance on communities, locally and globally. We aim to feature a diverse range of innovators to provide solutions-oriented case studies in Tibet and other related contexts.
