Want to get a jump on your triathlon season? Looking to improve your skill set and take your season to the next level? New to the sport and want some individualized instruction?
Whether you're new to the sport or an intermediate athlete, there is always something to learn and improve to elevate your technique. The Luray Triathlon Camp is run by experienced USA Triathlon Level 1 coaches with years of experience training, racing and coaching all levels of athletes.
Come out to Luray, VA, a 2 hour drive from Washington, DC, to train on the same course as the Luray Triathlon (see http://www.luraytriathlon.com)
This 3-day camp will include:
- Initial testing to determine base levels for running and cycling
- Open water swim instruction
- Open water swimming clinic
- Overview on cycling and bike handling skill
- Preview of the Luray triathlon bike course
- Instruction on improving your running technique
- Injury prevention and strength training exercises
Each camp attendee will receive a technical t-shirt from Double X Endurance, waterbottles, and other triathlon useful swag. Camp participants will also have meals provided during the times for the clinics. All clinics will convene at Lake Arrowhead in Luray, VA. By the end of the three-day adventure, you will have a better idea of how to approach your season and a 2-month training plan.

1:00 p.m. Check in
1:30 p.m. Overview of the events for the weekend
2:00 p.m. Baseline testing for running. Will re-test 6 weeks from the camp.
Saturday June 4,
8:00 a.m. Meet at the beach at Lake Arrowhead
Overview of open water swimming techniques (1 hr)
9:00 a.m. Open water swim practice (2 hr)
11:30 a.m. Lunch (1 hr)
12:30 p.m. Cycling technique overview (1 hr)
1:30 p.m. Group Ride Luray Olympic course (2 hr)
4:00 p.m. Basic Bike maintenance (1 hr)
5:00 p.m. Transition set up and gear overview (30 min)
Sunday June 5,
8:00 a.m. Run overview and technique (1 hr)
9:00 a.m. Preview of the Luray Triathlon run course (1 hr)
10:00 a.m. Injury prevention and key exercises for core strength (1 hr)
