In honor of Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day, we invite you to celebrate the women who’ve made an impact on society and in our community with an evening of films, art, and homemade baked goods.
LUNAFEST, a traveling short film festival by, for, and about women, will visit over 150 cities throughout the 2012/2013. We are proud to host LUNAFEST here in Santa Cruz with an inspiring screening of nine short films that offer reflection, hope and humor from around the world.
This evening will also feature a Pop Up Museum with the theme Her Story. The Pop Up Museum is a temporary show created by you. We name the theme; you bring something on-topic to share with others. Her Story invites anyone to bring an object from or inspired by an important woman in their life and leave it on display from 5:00-8:00pm.
Last but certainly not least, enjoy a bake sale celebrating women who’ve made history here in Santa Cruz; everything from Josephine McCracken macaroons to ZaSu Pitts popcorn cookies.
NOTE: Two screenings - 5:15-7:00pm and 7:15-9:00pm
