Now in its seventh year, the Luna Park Chalk Art festival bring together thousands of artists, arts students, and art lovers from all cultural and artistic backgrounds for a day of community celebration in a beautiful downtown San Jose park.
See art created live throughout the event while artists create works of art. Listen and dance to Live music, and savor the delicous food provided by the various themed food trucks.
The 2014 chalk art/art festival will kick-off on the morning of Friday the 19th. On Friday, we highly encourage all chalk artists to start on their murals. The festival main event is scheduled for Saturday, September 20th from 10am-5pm! This is a RAIN OR SHINE EVENT!!! Yipee!!!
Registration for chalk space, booth space, non-profits, and schools at the Luna Park Chalk Art Festival is Open from April 1st to September 13th, 2014. Register early, space is limited.
Artists of all ages and disciplines can register for a space to chalk at the festival. The Luna Park Chalk Art Festival welcomes everyone from the beginner to the professional chalk artist. No experience necessary!
Each artist who registers for chalk space will receive a box of 12 color soft pastels. Luna Park will do it's best to accommodate all space requests, but space is limited.
There are no refunds for chalk spaces in the event of cancellation or weather.
Arts and Crafts Vendors in keeping with the spirit of the Luna Park Chalk Art Festival, only vendors of crafts, handmade, and artisan goods will be allowed to participate. In order for the festival committee to evaluate your eligibility, you will need to provide a description of your goods and a link to online samples of your goods / items for sale.
Each vendor will need to submit copies of their seller permits.
After registering for this event, you will receive a confirmation email. Click "reply" to that confirmation email and attach a copy of your seller's permit.

This year, schools participating in the Luna Park Chalk Art festival in 2014 are eligible to apply for grants from the Luna Park Arts Foundation, which supplies grant money to school art programs. Please let us know if you are interested in applying for a grant, and the Luna Park Arts Foundation will be in contact with further information.
To participate in the Luna Park Chalk Art Festival, your school or youth arts program will need a team lead who is over 18 years of age and will be responsible for coordinating the student team. Schools and organizations applying for grants from the Luna Park Arts Foundation must participate in the Luna Park Chalk Art Festival.
Each student representing his or her school at the Luna Park Chalk Art Festival must download and have his or her parent/guardian sign a waiver, which can be turned in at the registration booth on the day of the festival.
