Event Details

Join the Louisville Film Society on Oscar night to celebrate the 20 Nominations received by Kentuckians who either starred in or made the nominated film.  The 20 nominations include 10 for Gravity, starring Kentucky native George Clooney, 10 for American Hustle, including a Best Supporting Actress nomination for Louisville native Jennifer Lawrence.

Ages 21 and over.

Discover LFS' new home and future plans at 1536 Lytle St, in the historic neighborhood of Portland, just a few blocks west of downtown Louisville, off 15th Street.

Louisville Film Society

Louisville Film Society is a 501c3 membership-based non-profit created to foster film appreciation and creation in our region.  LFS' new home will be located at 1536 Lytle St in the Portland neighborhood just a few blocks west of downtown.




To build and enrich community by exhibiting, educating and exposing Greater Louisville to experimental, independent, classic and international cinema.


To prompt discussion and new perspectives among a cross-cultural, cross-generational audience through creative and educational film programming.


To build and maintain film archival facilities to serve as a resource for regional filmmakers and historians.


To explore alternative spaces for film through outreach to local businesses while establishing a permanent cinema for the Society.
