Please mark your calendars for April 11th, 2013 for the Louisiana AIDS Advocacy Network’s annual Legislative Awareness Day in Baton Rouge, LA. We will be meeting at 11 am at the Capitol Park Welcome Center, 702 North River Road in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. LAAN will hold special sessions on modernizing sex education, Medicaid Expansion, and our latest publication, the Louisiana HIV/AIDS Strategy for Advocacy (LHASA). LHASA outlines the steps we can take over the coming years to enhance the lives of people living with HIV by way of health and human rights.
At 1 pm, we will march from the Welcome Center to the Capitol building for a chance to meet with legislators and their aides about HIV-related legislative issues. If you would like to attend, please RSVP at the link below. We will be working to provide transportation from Lafayette, Lake Charles, Shreveport, Alexandria and Monroe, but this will be dependent upon the number of people who sign up and the availability of our resources.
