Event Details

This is an eight week Academy for HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS ONLY (9-12th grades) which runs from March 7, 2015 through April 25, 2015.  Students that complete the Academy will receive awards and certificates of Completion.  The main focus of this academy is to teach Leadership, Discipline and Teamwork.

The Los Angeles Fire Department currently runs four Youth Fire Academies in various parts of the city.  The L.A. Metro Fire Academy which initially began as a collaboration with West Los Angeles College is coordinated by Battalion Chief Antoine McKnight.  The Academy seeks to teach students leadership, discipline and the importance of being involved in their communites.
