6:45-7:45p - Portland Style Blues Lab
A peer-review based dancer lab following the form of Portland's notably effective Blues Lab with Justin Riley as the moderator. Dancers will take turns giving and receiving guided feedback specific to their own dancing. In brief, this class is a guided peer-review session of 10 mini privates with 10 different instructors.
8:00-9:00p - Making Dancing a Conversation
Let’s redefine the conventional idea of lead-dominated dancing! We want to give follows the confidence, freedom, and skills necessary to properly bring varying degrees of input into their dance. The class is designed to transform typical, lead-driven, monologues into dynamic conversations. Conversations with give and take, listening and assertion, that build and deconstruct to a point where issues of lead and follow dissolve into connection and communication. This class goes beyond the theoretical and focuses on the variations in frame, tone, and muscle engagement that bring these concepts into reality.

1:15-2:15p -Connection, Connection, Connection: You, Your Partner, and The Music
Okay, be honest, why do you dance blues? It’s about the connection. This class is about you, your partner, the music, and the mechanics that bring them all together. Whether it’s your first night dancing or the end of your first decade, this class will help develop and refine the very thing that returns us to partner dancing time and time again: connection.
2:30-3:30p - Finally, A Follow Intensive Class (for everyone!)
Follows, are you tired of just being a “prop” in class? We all are. In this class we’ll dig deep into the fundamentals of a follow’s posture, frame, connection, and mentality. We will look at more advanced ways to elegantly assert yourself and help influence the dance. This is also a great class for primary leads who want to learn to follow but rarely get a chance because leads are always in such high demand.
3:45-4:45p - Isolations: Micro Blues, Hip Hop, Body Rolls, and a Moving Pulse
Add depth to your musicality, keep up with that 250 beats-per-minute Balboa song without making a weight change, and make your fish tails hit. . . five beats each! It’s all in the isolations. It’s all in this class!
5:00-6:00p - Cultural Innovation, Adaptation and Application: Making Traditional Movements Electronic.

Culture doesn't just manifest. It borrows, adapts, and innovates: synthesizing past into the present. We can see these sorts of dynamics in the electronic music scene with the emergence of generes like Electro-Swing, Tango Electronica, Tribal-Bass, Balkan-Beat, and many others. In this class we will take hold of these dynamics by applying movements we alreday know from blues, jazz, and tango to electonic music. "Now everyone Fish Tail..." **Wobble-Wobble-Wobble**

11:00-12:00p - Filling the Empty
One of Blues Dancing's most distinguishing characteristics is its appreciation of the small, the in-between, the quiet. We'll learn to use breath, micro isolations, dynamic tone, and a true reveling in silence to fully utilize those hard-hitting breaks, those gushy between-the-beat moments, and the infinity of time and space we have between even the simplest of weigh-shifts.
12:15-1:15p - Breaking The Rules: A Creativity and Moves Class (advanced)
As masters of poetic movement, we have perfected the syntax of our art. But as many great writers like James Joyce and Ernest Hemingway have shown us, masters get to break the rules: alternate frames, leads revolving around follows, inter-partnership play, asynchronous movement, split weight. Where the beginners are barred, the masters get to play!
