A celebration of the Garifuna people (a mix race of Carib, arawak indians and africans) on their arrival and settlement in Belize after being expelled from the Island of St Vincent to Rotan by the British. After making thier way through Honduras and Guatemala and finally arriving in Belize on November 19th 1801, they celebrate this event in Belize every year with an re-enactment. Here in the U.S. we we do our best to Celebrate and give thanks as close as possible. Come enjoy a great day of music and food and celebration with us.
The Garifuna Cultural Group is an organization that works in the greater Los Angeles area on preserving their Culture and teaching the next generation of Garifuna kids their history, music, Dance and Language.
