Enjoy a springtime nature walk at Acterra's newest stewardship site!
Join Acterra staff botanist Paul Heiple for an educational hike at Acterra's newest stewardship site, Byrne Preserve in Los Altos Hills, an important wildlife corridor running between Westwind Barn and Hidden Villa. Its 88 acres of rolling grasslands, oak woodlands, creeks, and chaparral habitats are home to coyote, deer, bobcats, various raptors and songbirds, as well as a large diversity of native plant species.
Enjoy Spring wildflowers and learn about the plants, animals, and ecology of the preserve on an easy 1-mile hike. Then stay to enjoy the park's stunning views over a picnic lunch.
Who: All ages welcome.
When: Thursday, May 22 from 12 to 1:00 p.m.
Where: We will meet in the parking lot at Westwind Barn located at 27210 Altamont Road, Los Altos Hills. Carpool, bike, or walk if possible.
Please bring: Water, a hat, binoculars, and a lunch to enjoy before or after the walk.
