This class will help you create great scenes that engage the audience. Exercises will focus on the principles of clarity, emotion, and pattern to create richly textured comedic theater. In addition, students will learn and practice techniques for finding yourself when you feel lost, and creating characters that are completely unique. We will examine the fundamentals of improvisation, making you more confident, trusting and graceful on stage. Finally, whether you are an actor or work a 9-5, you'll see how improvisation can change your life and we'll have a lot of fun! Improvisors of any experience level are welcome and will be challenged. The curriculum will be created based on the needs of the performers present.

CHRIS GRIGGS has studied improv with The New York Second City TrainingCenter, The PIT and UCB withveteran teachers such as Ali Farahnakian, Matt Walsh, Ptolemy Slocum, KevinScott, Kurt Braunohler,Jack McBrayer, and many others. He has performed in Second City’s NYShowcase Stop Spreading theBooze, host, in ComedyNet’s instructional series "Improv School" and TV’sWorld Cup Comedy producedby Kelsey Grammer. Additionally, he's been seen on Bravo, E Television andThe Discovery Channel.Currently, Chris is part of the senior faculty and teaches improvisation atThe People's Improv Theater.He's also a standup comedian and performs regularly on The PIT’s seniorweekend house team TheBaldwins.
