Prepare to laugh your collars into permanent pop-dom, as San Francisco comics hit the stage for LOL for LLS, a fundraiser for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society as part of the 2012 Mr. Marina Competition.
12 of San Francisco's funniest young comedians will come together April 24, along with host and Mr. Marina finalist Eric Barry for a night of hilarious standup comedy. All proceeds from the event will go towards Eric's fundraising efforts, one of the criterion upon which the Mr. Marina finalists are judged.
Mr. Marina is a fundraising competition poking fun at the stereotypes of San Francisco's Marina District, while raising money for LLS. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society helps blood cancer patients live better, longer lives through cancer research and community programs.
Comics that are performing include:
Hosted by Eric Barry
The event will be held at Milk on Haight/Stanyan. 10% of all bar proceeds will also benefit Eric's fundraising campaign. Comedian Stefan Davis will also be donating 50% of sales from his comedy CD at the event. All donations (including ticket purchases) are tax-deductible.
The event is free, but we strongly encourage you to show your support for blood cancer research by purchasing a paying ticket or making an in-person donation at the event.
