The Locust/MCBC Fun Ride - a mixed terrain endurance ride
Are you someone who can’t make up your mind between road biking and mountain biking? Do you like to go for long rides and are you always looking for the hardest hills to climb? Than the Locust/MCBC Fun Ride is for you!
We’ll meet once a month at the Java Hut in Fairfax on a Sunday at 9 am for a 4-5 hour adventure on the roads, fire roads and trails of Marin County. We keep the routes close to our chest until the week of the rides, but you can be sure it will be challenging, scenic and 100% legal and permitted!
You’ll get a lesson on trail and road etiquette at the beginning of the ride, as we want to be bicycle ambassadors to create as many positive encounters as possible with motorists and fellow trail users. As a matter of fact, get a picture of yourself with a horse and you score a special prize! The rides end at Fairfax’s Gestalt Haus for prizes, food, beverage and socializing.
A $30 donation to MCBC will get you a ticket to ride, and includes the Marin Bicycle Map, an aid station and a spectacular route. Your contribution helps MCBC expand Marin's network of bike lanes, pathways, trails, tunnels and bridges. For more on the Marin County Bicycle Colaition (MCBC) visit www.marinbike.org.
