A unique pairing of Freewheel cask ales and small plates from Chef Nick Rappoport of Luke's Local. Chef Nick, Freewheel's Certified Cicerone Caitlyn Greffly, and Brewer Malcolm McGinnis will be in-house to speak about the pairings. This is an SF Beer Week event.

Chef Nick Rappoport started his cooking career as a young apprentice under Chef Manuel Azavedo of La Salette Restaurant in Sonoma Valley where he grew up. Soon after, he moved on to work at acclaimed restaurants such as The French Laundry, Serpentine, and Outerlands to name a few. A six month trip through Spain, Italy and France showed him that food could not only be fresh, simple and delicious, but, it could give one a sense of place, "terroir" if you will. He now produces creative meals utilizing locally sourced ingredients in conjunction with Luke's Local, a San Francisco based company providing customers with high quality, nutritional foods while supporting small farms. www.lukeslocal.com
Caitlyn Greffly has been working with Freewheel Brewing Co. since their opening in January 2013. Through observing brew days, constant beer sampling, and asking far too many questions of Brewmaster Malcolm McGinnis, she has learned the ins and outs of cask ale. Her Cicerone Certification® has compelled her to become proficient in beer and food pairings, and her passion for the craft compels her to share her beer knowledge with anyone who will listen.
