Join us on Saturday, September 13, 2014, for the 2nd Annual Liz’s Ride for Agape. Agape, in partnership with Harding Academy & Cirque du Velos (CdV), is preparing the Liz LaVelle bike ride in memory of Liz and in support of her heart for children in foster care.
Liz LaVelle was the third child of Dr. David and Jenny LaVelle. Liz lived with enthusiasm and a passion for life. She had a huge heart for those that are unable to help themselves. Liz’s special passion was for foster children and children with learning disorders. During high school at Harding Academy she helped convince her parents to become foster parents. She worked very closely with her parents to take care of three foster children for most of her senior year. Liz was studying psychology at Lipscomb University in Nashville with the goal of eventually working at Agape Child and Family Services to help children with learning problems that are in foster care.
Liz passed away tragically in 2010, a month after her 20th birthday while driving to Nashville to see her brother. Her loss has left a very large void in the lives of those who knew her, but her love and passion for children in need lives on in the hearts of those she touched. That is why Cirque du Velos has chosen to honor Liz’s memory and to support Agape in their work to help children and families in need.
