In conversation with award-winning writer Sharon Bridgforth, Mary will share the story of her own personal journey as a refugee, her founding WWWA and the groundbreaking work they are doing to integrate and empower refugees.
WWWA uses storytelling extensively in their work with women refugees in South Africa to help them process their experiences, overcome their challenges and embrace their strengths. Together, the women that Mary works with have developed the power of creative expression to address global challenges like HIV/AIDS, women's empowerment and economic revitalization.
This event is free and open to the public. The venue is accessible for those with impaired mobility.
