Who: Michael Hewitt, PhD, Research Director for Exercise Science, Canyon Ranch Health Resort
Michael Hewitt, PhD, is the Research Director for Exercise Science at Canyon Ranch Health Resort. He is a clinical specialist in exercise and aging, cardiometabolic physiology and exercise for bone health. During his over twenty-year-tenure at Canyon Ranch, Dr. Hewitt has written over 15,000 individual exercise perscriptions and has lectured at the College of Medicine at the University of Arizona. He is dedicated to preventative medicine and is especially interested in the prevention of sarcopenia, the age-related loss of body mass.
Parking is available in the University of Arizona Medical Center – University Campus visitor/patient parking garage. The fee is $1.50 per hour, cash only.

Living Healthy With Arthritis
The Living Healthy With Arthritis program is a community based intervention program that uses education to promote optimal health. The University of Arizona Arthritis Center faculty and staff, as well as experts from the community present topics monthly.
