Description
Little Red School House and Elisabeth Irwin High School
The Little Red School House and Elisabeth Irwin School expansion doubled the size of this high school on a very complex urban site with historical designation. The concept has been to turn a simple block building into a campus, and includes a five-story arts pavilion and theater renovation, a three-story science pavilion with state-of-the-art classrooms, an expanded cafeteria, and exterior gathering spaces. This project was completed in four phases over five years. The tour, led by the architects from ABA Studio/Andrew Bartle Architects, will focus on the development of the building from an inwardly focused diocese school building to an outwardly focused "campus" for a private high school in a NYC landmark district.
